nieghbors
It is interesting that in New England people seem so closed. I feel so stifled when looking at the people walking down the street or trying to say hi to people in the store. One thing i noticed this past week is when coming out of my place i saw a nieghbor and thier kid. I said high in a chipper sort of way, what did i get? The lady saying a simple plain hi but the kid trying to chat me up. The kid was a cute 5 year old who asked said hi, wanted to let me know stuff about her and seemed seriously lacking attention.
Is New England breeding kids that need attention? We put so much thought into giving the kids books, tv, computers, etc… Yet how much are we taking the time to go play a game of basketball with them? I work far to much to judge others, and it makes me sad to see the kids sometimes hug me hoping to get a little attention when i can not.
Thoughts on Movies
It is interesting to look at movies today and what is going on in society. I am one for free speech but in looking at the general theme in movies and TV you see a tremendous amount of civil unrest against organized police or any type of “greater good” mentality. Should large corporations be aloud to flood the market with such slanted ideology? My heart keeps saying “freedom, freedom” but my brain knows that with enough brainwashing, generations will be convinced that these things are right and the only way. I see a city like Hartford getting worse and worse with violence and students getting more and more defiant. Sane people look at these movies as entertainment. But what about the kids and you adults who are in emotional upheaval and want an answer to the burning questions they feel they need to answer.
Can i side either way on this debate? No. But I can say that there needs to be some sort of justification involved other then profit for companies. I understand the need of making money but it seems that corporate America is getting more and more about a dollar then about the people. I guess that is a whole separate discussion.
